While solar continues its significant growth worldwide, there is limited “Smart” technology available that distributes solar-generated electrical energy throughout a home or business.
Today’s electrical panels were developed to accommodate only utility-generated energy with zero consideration given to the need to capture and manage the use of alternative energy. In today’s environment, homeowners cannot “self-consume” the energy they generate from their rooftop without first sending that energy back through the grid. Koolbridge Solar’s solution efficiently integrates alternative energy generation with grid-based energy, resulting in higher use of alternative energy and reduced costs.
Products/Services
Our initial products, the 125 Amp and 200 Amp SMART LOAD CENTERS(SLC), are next-generation energy management systems that replace the home’s traditional breaker box. They are designed to work with two or more incoming sources of energy, i.e., utility & solar, solar & wind, generator & battery, etc. The SLC automatically selects the energy source based on availability and lowest cost, then manages the energy distribution on a circuit-by-circuit basis simultaneously. Additionally, the SLC captures energy utilization data, manages peak demands, and load shedding, and provides continuous energy to the homeowner at the lowest price.
Target Market/Customers
Koolbridge Solar has targeted over 10 million homes in the US during the next 5 years as SMART LOAD CENTER users. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association:
- 5 million new homes are projected to be built during the next 5 years.
- 5 million existing homes are projected to convert to solar energy during the next 5 years. Each of them is projected to include some form of installed energy management system.
- Based on projected 5-years finances, those 10 million homes represent a $10 billion target market for the SMART LOAD CENTER.
Sales/Marketing Strategies
Our distribution strategy includes selling the SMART LOAD CENTER to home builders, solar installation companies, and electrical contractors. Two of our Board of Advisors members are founders and CEOs of solar installation companies and fully recognize the benefits provided by the SMART LOAD CENTER. Our marketing efforts include participating in US and international energy trade shows that reach over 50,000 attendees, speaker panels, press releases, digital marketing, and advertising in solar and renewable energy trade publications with a total reach of 100,000 subscribers.
Competition/Our Advantage
The Koolbridge Solar SMART LOAD CENTER is among the first new and innovative products targeting the residential alternative energy market.
